Rindy's travel blog entry: "Our second day in Beijing was ambitious: we visited a cloisonne factor, the Great Wall, and the Ming Tombs, then were served Peking Duck for Dinner. As with most factories we visited, very little space is devoted to demonstrating how this stuff is made - but there is a large display/sales area where a sales person dogs you the entire time you are there. The were tenatious, yet polite. Cloisonne was actually introduced by Europeans, but is now a Chinese craft/art. Apparently there are many more Ming Tombs to be uncovered - we visited the area and explored the one. The great wall was much anticipated - I wandered along the wall for about half an hour then headed back down. At first it was fairly flat walking, but as you know, the wall is in a mountainous area, and soon it traced steep inclines and I was stopping every now and then to catch my breath. It is a remarkable feat, and in the area we visited, in excellent restored condition, complete with a roller coaster ride down, if you desire. I skipped it and walked back down."
